I wonder why you think she is arrogant. She is not quoted in the article. She simply decided she didn't want to work at AIG anymore. Reading this board would you want to, people wishing you dead. It's not worth it. She's near retirement age.

Bill, AIG opened at 31.40 on Jan 2nd 2009 and closed at 29.98 today. If you go back another year it was at the equivalent of about 1,000. (There have been reverse splits where you give up 10 old shares for 1 new share, that's why the numbers look strange).

Bubbleburst- Wasn't complaining just pointing out the economics. People should be free to market themselves and decide where they work. If they feel they can do better elsewhere that's their choice.

Actually the taxpayers didn't lend a dime. Did your taxes go up? If we are already running deficits all your tax dollars have been spent. The governemnet sold bonds and the bonholders lent the money.

her salary is on Forbres.com I would be amazed that options would be worth all that much given the stock performance of AIG, didn't they do a 10-1 revers split. Finally I agree a 2+ million severance doesn't make sense and I doubt it will be paid.

James you are just wrong, the top wage earners pay most of the taxes. In fact the top 1% of wage earners pay 39.9% of all taxes

What is excessive. Her base was 100,000. That's not that high for a lawyer and they wanted to cut that. Notice how the article doesn't mention her pay and only puts in the CEOs to make you think she makes millions.
